Leadership Development

The church will not rise above its leaders. If you are a leader or think God is calling you to be one, we have created a ministry to help equip you in Christian leadership.

The purpose of this St. Andrews Leadership Training (SALT) ministry is to create a training and development forum for our congregation that will enhance the ministry leadership capacity and capabilities as a collective unit. This is done in order to better equip our people to live into the vision and mission of the church.

Leader Identification

We are constantly on the lookout for those whom God raises to lead in his church. Part of this ministry is to work with the spiritual gifts ministry leaders and ministry directors to identify those people and invite them to the training.

Ongoing Curriculum Development

The leaders actively pour over books, websites and periodicals in pursuit of materials that will help our leaders develop into extraordinary leaders. We have found resources from the internet, several books from the Willow Creek Association, Jim Collins' Good to Great, and Malphurs and Mancini's Building Leaders.

Training Sessions

The key to this ministry is the time spent with the leaders.

Ten hours of training held twice a year

A lot of laughter and playfulness
Format is a combination of mini-lecture and group or individual exercises
Led by various leaders in the church including elders, pastors, directors and ministry leaders.
Personal assessments are part of each of the five weeks of training
Resource notebook is developed and given to each leader

Continuing Education

All of the work done for the initial training is put into continuing education. Various topics are addressed and taught as leadership needs arise.
