Local Mission

God loves this world including our local area. Because God loves it, so do we.  Abundantly.

St. Andrews members regularly go out into the community to work for the relief of the poor and hungry as an expression of our faith in Jesus Christ. We offer help and hope as we share our faith. While many of our members and groups are involved in their favorite missions locally, we have gotten behind a few in particular that are meaningful to the whole church, including the following.
  • Religious Community Services (RCS). RCS is a social service ministry providing the basic needs of food, shelter, safety, clothing, and household goods to individuals and families.
  • Kairos Prison Ministry.  This mission of this ministry is to bring Christ's love and forgiveness to all incarcerated individuals, their families and those who work with them, and to assist in the transition of becoming a productive citizen.
  • Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas County.  Habitat for Humanity seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action.  This groups seeks to do the same for our county.
  • Beth-El Farmworker Ministry.  Beth-El Mission helps farm workers achieve self-sufficiency through its open opportunities to worship, its extensive educational programs, and the many services it provides to meet basic needs.
  • Homeless Emergency Project (HEP).  The mission of HEP is to provide homeless and very low-income individuals and families with housing, food, clothing and support services necessary to obtain self-sufficiency and improved quality of life
  • St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen.  Located in Clearwater, this ministry prepares meals for homeless people every day of the week.
