mission & values

our mission

When all is said and done we are striving to be known as a church full of people who, above all else:

LOVE GOD. LOVE PEOPLE. PUSH BACK DARKNESS.

LOVE GOD

The One who created the Universe first loved us.  By embracing the cross we understand His love and our created value.  We also see our crimes against God and need for redemption.  When we know the love of God through the Gospel we live lives full of freedom, worship, and gratitude.

LOVE PEOPLE

We are a church that wants to bring people into a serving, loving, caring community.  We want to weep with those who weep, laugh with those who laugh, and share life.  Following Jesus is deeply personal, but not private.  Because of the grace of God we are free to take off our masks and be fully known.

PUSH BACK DARKNESS

We are missionaries to our jobs, schools, friends, neighborhoods, and cities. We are all ministers bringing light to people in darkness. The six days between Sundays are to be filled with sharing the good news of Jesus and loving our city.

Three Ways to Make A Difference

Expectations of our people to live the mission

We want people to come to St. Andrews, but what we're really passionate about is seeing people grow up at St. Andrews.  Our mission statement says that we will  "Love God.  Love People.  Push Back Darkness."

That mission statement finds expression in the three commitments we ask our members to make.   We expect our members to do these three things because we know that when they do,  they will grow up in their relationship with Christ and make a difference for him in this world.  The following are the three commitments that we ask every member to make.

WORSHIP WEEKLY

Our love for God grows when we worship, and we expect our members will participate in weekly worship.

GET IN A GROUP

Personal and spiritual growth happen when people get together regularly to learn and pray and share their lives together.  We expect our members to find a group and become involved.

FIND AND DO YOUR PERSONAL MISSION

We are saved to do good works in the name of Jesus, and we expect our members to find their personal mission and do it.
