Jesus gave instructions to his followers to “go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19). One of the youth of this church, Andrew, was shown and taught what it meant to be a follower of Jesus. He came to an age in his life where he was ready to go public with his faith and, since he had not been baptized before, that led to this moment.
The baptism was announced in morning worship and people came out to share in the celebration of what God was doing in Andrew’s life. So on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, Pastor John and Elder Ron led a ceremony on the beach. Andrew was asked some questions and he publicly expressed his faith in Jesus Christ. Others shared what the moment meant as well, including Andrew’s mother. The crowd promised enthusiastically to help Andrew on his spiritual journey with Jesus.
Pastor John and Elder Ron then led Andrew into the Saint Joseph Sound (Gulf of Mexico) waters and followed Christ’s command to baptize in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This was a profoundly spiritual day at St. Andrews. You are invited to come experience such days with us.
