Our City

Dunedin and the surrounding area is one of Florida’s most charming areas to visit and live. Dunedin (pronounced "done - eden") itself is a quaint town of about 37,000 people set in the center of Pinellas County, one of the most densely populated counties in the state of Florida. This gives residents small town charm with big city activities within only a few miles.

The city has received many accolades.  Most recently, Dunedin was voted the 2008 winner of the Florida League of Cities' "Florida City of Excellence Award."  In May 2008, Dr. Beach (Stephen P. Leatherman) chose Dunedin’s Caladesi Island State Park as the Number One beach in the country in his “America’s Best Beaches” series. CNN MONEY Magazine recently chose the area as part of their “Best Places to Retire.”

The weather here is moderate-to-warm year-round with a constant breeze from the Gulf of Mexico blowing through the palm trees. Recreational, sports and leisure activities in Dunedin and the surrounding area are in abundance. Local hospitals are rated in the top 100 in America. Lifelong learning through schools and colleges is abundant. Industry is solid, housing values are strong and city leadership is progressive. In short, this is a great place to live!
